Funds in the amount of $18,500 were given to assist our local elderly and less fortunate through the SVdP Meals On Wheels program.

Over 4,000 nutritious meals have been made more accessible to Collier County seniors unable to make a trip to their local grocery stores, thanks to the very generous grant awarded by The League Club to the SVdP Naples Meals On Wheels program.

“Through this essential program we provide nourishing meals to many who are homebound, disabled and/or low-income,” said Carl Monticelli, Director of Development for SVdP. “Approximately 11% of Collier County seniors are in poverty and many in our program are without weekly visitors. They look forward to seeing our volunteers, who provide conversation and a friendly visit.”

The League Club was founded in 1986 and, over the past 35 years, has provided more than $5.4 million in grants to nonprofit organizations in Collier and Lee counties. This group of over 600 motivated women support the environment, education, children and families, among other meaningful causes.
